Camping and Bristol

We met with our Tennessee Good Sams Chapter this last weekend here at Holiday Travel Park in East Ridge Tennessee.  There was 12 rigs and we had 2 couples drive over.  Some came in on Thursday and we all met by the campfire.  Then on Friday the rest came in.  We all went out to eat at Provinos which was great.  Saturday we had Breakfast then the meeting, and at 5pm we had dinner together.  Linda and I left the meeting and drove to Spring City where we spent the night with our friends Ron and Loretta.  Got up at 5pm and drove to Bristol for the race.  We were not sure if it would run as it rained on us all the way up there.  We were able to get a Hot Pass from Nascar which gave us complete access to the Garage and Pit area. plus we had seats on the 3rd row of the Yarborough section which is on the back stretch right across from the start finish line.  Linda was like a little kid as this was her first race, and I am sure that it will not be her last one.  We then drove back to Spring City and stayed the night and then on Monday we came back to East Ridge.  They poured the concrete on Tuesday for our summer pad and inspected the electricity set up in order to turn on the electricity.  All is ready to go and we will move to it on Sunday.  They called today and said that the truck was ready to pick up.  They had to recondition the Turbo.  $1295.00 worth.  This will probably be the last post for a while as we are going to be very busy getting our home set up and livable.  I will post pics of it just as soon as we can.  Take care and keep us in mind.

Back in Tennessee

Well here we are again, Back in Tennessee.  We went to the Good Sam Club Meeting in Lebanon, Tn and then came to East Ridge so that we could get the truck checked out.  We had a turbo problem twice on the trip home but then it stopped and the truck ran great.  Getting it checked out anyway.  We are at Holiday Travel Park and set up for at least 2 weeks.  Went to Spring City and picked up Linda's car, before turning over the truck.  We saw our site where we will use as a home base and it looks great.  They were getting ready to install the electricity and pour the concrete.  We should be good to go in a week or so.  This coming week we will get clothes washed and camp with our local Chapter of Good Sam called Sam's Dixie Travelers here, and on Sunday we are going to Bristol Tn for the Nascar Sprint cup race.  This will be Linda's first up close and personal race.  Hopefully she will be able to go into the pits.  As I sit here and reflect on the last 6 months I can not believe the fun that I have had.  Linda and I saw a lot of new areas of this country and visited with family.  We have had a ball.  Linda quit smoking and for that I am thankful.  She has done great and I am so proud of her.  Well folks I guess the next post will be when we get back from the race or when we get moved in at our new home.  Until then,

On the Road Again, (Sound Familar)

It has been a few days since I posted last, I have been really busy with the preparations for going home.  We have eaten with friends from the Heartland Club and with Linda's sister when she came down for the weekend.  We have shopped in Corpus Christi and Port Aransas.  Now this morning we hitched up and started the trip back to Tennessee.  We stopped in Lake Charles La at 3 PM CST today and will travel to Meridian Ms tomorrow and spend the night.  On Tuesday we will travel to Cornersville Tn and spend a couple of days with our grandchildren,  On Thursday we will go to Lebanon for a Good Sam State Meeting then on to Spring City and settle in until the next trip.  This will be short and as soon as we get to Spring City I will do a longer posting.
